What Students Are Saying

“The first class went very well. Our Italian teacher Alessandra is humorous and interesting in class. After a few classes with her, I found out she is good at expressing the complex and difficult process formulas clearly and in a concise language. The lectures are compact and rich, with a large number of examples and exercises, which is very helpful for beginners students to master the classroom content in a short period of time. She always says, l’italiano è facile, that means, to learn Italian with joy and happiness! I think I got the most passionate learning spirit from her!”

“Taking an Italian language course on the internet is easy and fun. Alessandra teaches with kindness and enthusiasm and it’s nice to be in the comfort of your home while learning something new.”

— Jennifer W.

“Alessandra has been teaching beginning Italian to our two teenage daughters via Zoom and they have thoroughly enjoyed her lessons! Alessandra teaches with passion and enthusiasm.  Our daughters describe her as ‘fun, engaging, and patient’. I’m amazed by how much they have learned in just ten lessons! Already they have a good foundation for traveling in Italy and, thanks to Alessandra, they’re inspired to learn more Italian!”

After College of Marin stopped offering the Italian classes I wanted to take, Alessandra’s lessons were a fantastic find. That was about three years ago and during this time, I have attended both in person and zoom. I love it that not only Alessandra is very entertaining (the classes are truly fun!) but she also offers high quality instruction. My Italian has progressed substantially even though I have taken several breaks in between courses.

Mónica L., Greenbrae (Intermediate student)

Sono una studentessa di Alessandra da tre anni.
Ho iniziato come principiante. Non posso parlare molto bene ma posso mettere insieme una piccola conversazione. Alessandra è un’insegnante meravigliosa e paziente.

S. D., Ross (Pre-Intermediate student)

I’ve been studying with Alessandra for four years, and feel so fortunate to have found her. She uses a variety of approaches to help you learn, and is very supportive which encourages students to take chances and learn more doing so. On top of which, Alessandra is very friendly and has a great sense of humor, which makes the learning a fun experience!

Pam, Marin County (Higher Intermediate student)

I have taken many Italian classes through College of Marin, but I didn't learn much. Since 2018 I started taking Alessandra's classes at "Book Passage" and now 2 years via Zoom. Alessandra has always an interesting topic to discuss, news about Italy, politics, customs, food, movies. I learned a lot about different regions in Italy. Never bored, always challenging.

M.R. (Advanced student)

I am in Alessandra's Higher Intermediate Italian class. I have been studying for a couple of years. Alessandra is a native of Genoa. She is vivacious, funny, and an extremely knowledgeable teacher. Our class is small and everyone participates and has improved exponentially. We study the language, Italian culture and food and share ideas about films and television programs in Italian. It is more than just a class as we all enjoy each other and all about Italy in the process.
